Dr Lim Wee Kiak
Dr Lim Wee Kiak graduated from medical studies in the National University of SIngapore (NUS) with an MBBS in 1992. He started his postgraduate training in Opththalmology in 1995, graduating with a Master’s degree from NUS (MMED) and two specialist postgraduate qualifications in Opthalmology from UK (FRCS Edinburgh and FRCOphth London) in 1998.
Before joining Eagle Eye Centre as Chief Executive Officer and senior consultant eye surgeon, Dr Lim served as a consultant and a subspecialist in ocular inflammation and immunology at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He was trained at the world-renowned National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA in 2003 |
and is an expert in Ocular Inflammation, Immunology and Uveitis.He has authored 26 scientific peer-reviewed publications and 9 book chapters. He is also a member of the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG), International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS) and American Uveitis Society (AUS).
Besides serving at Eagle Eye Centre, Dr Lim holds concurrent appointments as Head, Ocular Inflammation, Immunology and Uveitis, The Eye Institute, National Healthcare Group and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also serving as a visiting consultant to SNEC. He is an accomplished eye surgeon who has performed thousands of eye surgeries including complex cataracts surgeries, pterygium excision with conjunctival graft (fibrin glue) and LASIK surgeries.
During his service in the SAF, he led humanitarian medical missions to neighbouring countries and served as team leader of the Singapore medical team at the United Nations Hospital in East Timor. In Singapore, he has initiated numerous eye care programmes for the community including Project I-Care (an eye screening programme for old folk's homes), free spectacles for children of needy families and free cataract surgery for the needy.

More about Dr. Lim Wee Kiak
 Dr Lim has been an active grassroots leader since 1998. He has served as Chairman of Fuchun Community Club Management Committee and as Vice-Chairman of Marsiling Citizens' Consultative Committee. He has also served as an RC chairman, Chairman of Marsiling Secondary School Advisory Committee, Northwest CDC Councilor and Sembawang Town Councilor. For his involvement he was awarded the Young Executive of the Year award in 2000, and a Public Service Medal (PBM) in 2003.
Dr Lim is an avid athlete, a runner and swimmer. He has completed 5 marathons and is going strong despite his very busy clinical and community schedule.
